Behind the scenes: Tout promotion
Figured I'd share a little collage that consists of actual email comments made by someone who operates (or manages) touts at a pick-selling site. Portions of these emails were sent to an actual tout that worked briefly at the company. (Note: this is NOT Pregame).

Does this look like a company that's trying to provide value to its clients?

The promotion is what needs to go away. Handicappers shouldn't be forced to come out with a certain number of plays each day or plays that fit certain descriptions. Why not only release plays when you feel good about something?

Maybe I'm incredibly naive but I never understand the 'confidence' ratings they apply to picks. Like when guys do 1-star through 5-star plays for the same amount of units.

The problem there is that people buying the picks probably want more action, so the handicappers are basically forced to comply with the paying customer.

If a pick seller could get away with releasing only a few plays a week (say 3 or 4), I'm sure they would be happy.

But if a pick buyer is spending (say $500), they probably won't think they are getting their moneys worth with a limited number of picks.

They could charge less, but what business person would want to do that? Especially if they are making enough money at their current rates.
