Any plumbers lurking around?

OK. So here's my problem. I've been saying for weeks that I'm going to get the hot water in my shower fixed. But, either A.) I'm too stubborn and want to fix the problem myself or B.) I secretly enjoy the cold shower.

I get hot water in the bathroom sink, and all over the house, except in my shower. The cold comes out fine, with good pressure, but when I turn it to hot, it drizzles out and doesn't even get warm.

I don't expect this thread to get a single response, but maybe, just maybe, there's a knowledgeable person in here that can help me fix the problem without having to make an appointment.

90% chance it's the faucet itself. You need to take it off and see what the water pressure is at the wall before the mechanism.
turn off the water at the nearest shutoff. Cold and hot. Drain the excess
Take off the faucet. If you are brave enough to do it,( I would suggest documenting each piece as you take it off.) Turn on water again, If it appears to be coming out without the mechanism attached you know the problems in the faucet.

Single mixing units (1 handle types) can be problematic to repair/replace to the average person.
The older the house usually the more the problem with plumbing.

Of course check to make sure someone didn't turn a shut off valve to your hot water in the shower first. But the symptoms sound like a classic faucet failing.
