i took a shot at temple 1st 10 and half. I liked for them to start out quick with the experienced guards

RE: 14 Hours of Hoops!
Played the under myself... the addition of Wyatt who is a good defender will keep this game even to a further under. Line was 135... thought that was way to high for a Temple game.

Good call on the quick start. That's with Fernandez starting 0-3.

ya when i thought quick start. I thought fernandez not going 0-3 lol.
Temple is still going to be tough this year. Moore is a really good player. Fernandez is still a really good guard. Wyatt is your wing defender and Eric and Jefferson will hold their own downlow. Not sure of their depth however. If they have some good pieces off the bench. I could see them challenging Xavier.

Only terrible thing about the games today, we have Time Warner Cable at work so no ESPN3 for me during the day. I have AT&T right across the street at my place and have it. Frustrated

Anyone have any thoughts on the next games?

I'm leaning strongly towards Iona...with Momo Jones they're going to be tough.

I see a lot of love for Iona, yet confused by BTB's thread on Purdue being a -10 spread.

RE: 14 Hours of Hoops!
Tulsa (-11.5) @ Western Kentucky

Tulsa
Kodi Maduka snagged a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds to lead Tulsa to a 65-49 victory over Arkansas-Little Rock in their season opener last Friday. They took the lead midway through the 1st half and pulled away in the second, leading by double digits most of the way. Tulsa finished shooting 38% from the field while the Trojans shot 28%.
Steven Idlet made all 9 of his shots from the field and scored 23 points Sunday to lead Tulsa to a 67-52 victory over Southeastern Louisiana. Idlet, a 6-foot-11 SR, had one 3-pointer among his field goals and went 4/6 from the FT line. Scottie Haralson was the only other player in double figures with 10 points for the Golden Hurricane (2-0), who never trailed in the game and led 33-20 at halftime.

Western Kentucky

Western Kentucky's Derrick Gordon led all scorers with 25 points in a 61-72 loss to St. Joe's in their season opener at home. They shot 27% from the field and 21% from 3-Pt, although they were 21/27 (78%) from the FT line.
Jamal Crook scored 13 points, including Western Kentucky's final 7 points against Tennessee State in a 52-49 win on Monday night. Crook hit his first career 3-pointer to put them ahead by three at 48-45. They shot 40% from the field and 25% from 2-Pt, but once again shot well from the line 9/12 (75%).

Will Tulsa run away with this one? Will Western Kentucky shoot well enough from the FT line to cover?

After further discussion with my Purdue co-worker I'm at a toss up on this damn Purdue/Iona game.

RE: 14 Hours of Hoops!
I paid the -200 on the m/l. It's a cop out play, and probably horrible value, but I don't see Purdue losing this game on a neutral site. I know Iona is returning a lot of talent, but I feel like if Purdue has coasted against High Point, this number would have come out further in their favor. Maybe that line would have been wrong too, though. :|

Anyone have a read on the Tulsa / WK game?

what did your purdue co-worker say? and how much do you believe that he knows basketball and isnt a homer lol?

I'm thinking the same thing as the temple play. put some money on the 1st 10 and first half for Purdue. At least Purdue has two games under their belt and they play tough defense which might take Iona time to get used to right away, especially being their first game.

I think Iona could take this as well, but we may see some rust early, which would favour Purdue because regardless Painter has them playing tough defense.

Ok...stuck with my gut went with Iona....just kept it small.

My co-worker actually knows a ton about basketball. Especially Purdue basketball. He actually told me about 2 weeks ago just as the season was starting that their 1st loss would be the Iona game.

They're at least returning some experience. That should provide some benefit on the defensive end.

I believe the Under for the full game may be the play.

Nobody has thoughts on Western Kentucky/Tulsa? 5 minutes left to bet...

Tulsa!

No, really, didn't have much time to research it and am staying away.
I am playing the Purdue/Iona under 139.5, though. Feel like that game will settle somewhere in the 60's.

Just no OT!
