Pretty interesting how you can purchase a certain amount of shares in a player. Signed up earlier today. I take it pitching generally results in more points, or better stock?

Yes, pitchers average a higher amount of points, but that is also why they are priced higher ($40k-$20K) than hitters ($10k-$5k).

For large tournaments like this, it will be interesting to see which strategy works best. My initial guess is that the winner will be someone who takes a lot of shares of some cheap hitters who have a big game, just because those are high risk, high reward plays.

Some hitter at $5K might score 0 points, but if you bought 10 shares of someone who hits a HR and has a 8 fantasy point game for example, you are well on your way to winning. In contrast, a great pitching performance of 20-25 points won't put you near the top but it will probably give you a better chance of cashing in overall.

If anyone has any strategies or questions, feel free to let me know.

I just signed up. My team appears to suck.

Thanks, SS.

Also, a few of you have emailed me questions. I think I've gotten to them (sorry, I was out of town this weekend), but if you have anything you want to ask regarding freerolls, Star Street, etc., this might be the best place.

I didn't realize you could buy multiple shares of the same player, and... I didn't do very well. The strategy to win a large freeroll seems to be putting all your eggs in one basket and stocking up on just a few players.

I won a head-to-head game. But I guess those are just for bragging rights?

Well, the free ones are. You can always play for cash if you'd like...
