Is Robert Griffin III really winning the Heisman?!? - jimmysingh9 - 12-06-2011 12:24 AM

I love the kids game but I didnt think he would beat out Luck but look at these odds on 5dimes.

Heisman Trophy Winner - Best Buy Theater - New York, NY
Sat 12/10

17101 Robert Griffin III wins Heisman Trophy -475
17102 Field wins Heisman Thophy +325

If this is not the case, should I be jumping on the field at +325?
ok the line just jumped to Field +250. Damn I think i missed out.
Something crazy is going on.

Robert Grifiin just posted as -750 now to win Heisman!!!!!!!!

I think Griffin deserves it, hands down. But I think Luck has a great chance, deserved or not.

You've got to remember, like most things in college football, politics governs the Heisman voting. You'd have to think, from a geographical perspective, Mathieu will steal some of Richardson's votes and vice versa, although there is definitely an SEC bias out there.

There's also a huge Andrew Luck bias in the national media, and I think he has an incredible chance.

I'm not betting on this, that's for sure. It's all politics.

I'm tempted to put $ on the field. Just don't see him as better than Richardson and Luck. That and I see the west coast voters going hard for Luck and eastern gong for Richardson. Will that help RGIII?

RE: Is Robert Griffin III really winning the Heisman?!? - jimmysingh9 - 12-06-2011 12:40 AM

I am just basing this on inside information and not who i think. The Heisman balloting is done and someone knows who the winner is right now.

I just never saw RGII that big of a favourite. Its very odd

5dimes only has a 50dollar max to win wager until odds reset. I think someone is hitting different #'s over and over again.

RE: Is Robert Griffin III really winning the Heisman?!? - Jaeger62 - 12-06-2011 12:47 AM

Now at -175, +135

Talk about a dramatic swing. Think they were trying to coax some RGIII action at a very good # for them?

I don't necessarily agree. I'd say southern voters will go Richardson/Mathieu, but "Eastern," as in NY, Boston, etc. would probably be more likely to go for Luck, the guy who has the most national buzz.

I still feel like, because of how little faith I have in the system, Luck will win. Just because he had the buzz all year. But Griffin deserves it, hands down.

Careful on the "hands down" argument. NOBODY really plays defense this year in the Big 12. Put Luck up against Big 12 teams, or Richardson for that matter, and they both have sick numbers. Trent would still be running against Big 12 defenses.

I saw at least 1 St. Louis based voter post on twitter that RG3 was his #1. Seems like there were some others who said that as well. Didn't see this coming at all but apparently RG3 might win this.

RE: Is Robert Griffin III really winning the Heisman?!? - Jaeger62 - 12-06-2011 02:07 AM

LOL.... Now its -1700 for RG and +800 Field

RE: Is Robert Griffin III really winning the Heisman?!? - VincentValour - 12-06-2011 02:09 AM

Inside info for sure, ughh I have Richardson 12/1.

hello is anyone here
i think andrew luck is gonna win the heisman

RE: Is Robert Griffin III really winning the Heisman?!? - VincentValour - 12-06-2011 02:36 AM

Line all the way down to -190 RGIII +150 field. What the hell is going on?

RE: Is Robert Griffin III really winning the Heisman?!? - JSpauny - 12-06-2011 02:39 AM

Wait, so the lines moved from -475 to -1700 down to -190 for RG3? Are they just blindly tabulating random twitter reveals and moving the line accordingly because it's pretty apparent that they're very unsure right now.

RE: Is Robert Griffin III really winning the Heisman?!? - VincentValour - 12-06-2011 03:02 AM

Yeah guess so, would have been a great opportunity for arbitrage. Now back up to RGIII -260.

Baylor played TCU, KState, Texas, all very good defenses. Trent definitely played a more difficult schedule, and probably would have run all over Big 12 defenses, you're right. But I don't agree that Luck did. Pac-12 is weaker defensively than the Big 12.

You know A&M's defense was #1 in Big 12 in YPP...

Is TCU the same defense that lost to SMU?

RE: Is Robert Griffin III really winning the Heisman?!? - atk825 - 12-06-2011 04:16 AM

All I am going to say in this argument is that Luck may have been off in the Oregon game (they still put up 30+) but against USC, who by the end of the year was one of the top 5 best teams in the country and had perhaps the best win of the season at Oregon, he put up quite some numbers.

RE: Is Robert Griffin III really winning the Heisman?!? - jimmysingh9 - 12-06-2011 09:27 AM

Guys at this time, dont base your bet on your own analysis.

The votes are in and they are counted. a handful of people probably know who the Heisman winner is already. All it takes is one person hinting to the wrong guy and people will look to profit from it.

Since there are limits on the line, someone is probably hitting the line for the max(its very small) and waiting for the line to change to hit it up again.

KState D finished 74th nationally, and TCU finished 32nd but was pretty bad at the beginning of the year, when Baylor played them. Texas D was fairly legit all season.

I'm not against RGIII winning the Heisman, but defending his schedule (compared to an SEC schedule) seems like a little bit of a reach.
