RE: Listen to my Pick for game 4 NBA Finals - louiemdj - 06-19-2012 10:49 AM Pretty accurate breakdown. Good listen. RE: Listen to my Pick for game 4 NBA Finals - JetsMetsRangers - 06-19-2012 10:50 AM Where do I get to listen to these on a daily basis? RE: Listen to my Pick for game 4 NBA Finals - illadelphia - 06-19-2012 10:54 AM Great breakdown yo! RE: Listen to my Pick for game 4 NBA Finals - mount187 - 06-19-2012 11:05 AM I don't understand how much you're wagering. Is this a Platinum Bookie Buster, or a 5k Dime Hustle Money Game of the Year, or a Retire Early Premium Super Slayer Max Bet Hammer Lock?!?! You have some nerve giving straight forward information like that PFG, some nerve! If you're not going to try to take advantage of complete idiots, then there's no place for you here. Wait no, that breakdown made perfect sense. Thanks for the link. How about a friendly wager: the loser changes his team name to "Paroled Robert" for a week? [Oh and you are already up 10-0 after last night.] You down? RE: Listen to my Pick for game 4 NBA Finals - jimmysingh9 - 06-19-2012 11:57 AM Great Stuff PGF, Thanks for sharing your input pregame! I am on the other side today. I actually found game 3 to be a poorly played game overall by both teams. Everyone talks about how Harden didnt play well and Durant was in foul trouble, but it wasn't like Lebron, Wade or Bosh had huge nights. I really felt they got workmanlike points and outside of Battier being hot from the 3 point line, I haven't seen Miami play at their peak. I really feel the difference in this Series is the defense from Miami and the type of shots that Miami creates over OKC. We all know OKC is a jump shooting team and they haven't done anything to change this. The only reason they are not down 3-0 is because Westbrook and Durant couldn't miss their jumpers in Game in the 2nd half/4th Quarter. I am not a huge fan of saying OKC's depth/team is a lot better because Miami has outcoached them by bringing out small lineups and making Ibaka and Perkins useless. This is the first team the OKC has faced that doesnt rely on a big man to create alot of their points. Bosh is a PF but he rarely plays near the rim. In SA, you had two bigs out there, Same with the Lakers and Mavs. Miami can spread them out and since OKC doesnt punish their small lineup on the offensive end. It is a big advantage to Miami. So what does OKC do to adjust? Play Harden and Sefolosha with Durant/Westbrook and one big? Miami takes advantage of that lineup as well and then when you put Derek Fisher out there, he is the worst player on the floor by far. It's a liability that Scott Brooks continues to go to. I think this is one of the games where Miami opens up a decent lead in this one and I don't think OKC can will themselves back on the road. I thought during Game 3 that if OKC was going to take one, it was going to have to be this one with the way the Heat were playing, but they didnt. The things I would worry about being a Heat backer in Game 3 would be Officials being pressured to giving OKC calls and Durant and Westbrook hitting their jumpers at an unreal percentage. Other than that, This Series is advantage Miami everywhere else. Hopefully we saved some guys money here. The only worry was what? Westbrook or Durant going nuts with their jumpers. Westbrook went nuts, hitting all pull up jumpers and Miami still covered. I tweeted this out. This is one quarter away from being a sweep. RE: Listen to my Pick for game 4 NBA Finals - JetsMetsRangers - 06-20-2012 08:04 AM One quarter away from a sweep? All the games could have gone either way. It's a couple of calls away from being 2-2 or 3-1 Thunder as well. RE: Listen to my Pick for game 4 NBA Finals - Beyond the Bets - 06-20-2012 08:57 AM If James Harden lived in Miami, his face would get eaten today. RE: Listen to my Pick for game 4 NBA Finals - ChiefZilla - 06-20-2012 09:47 AM James Harden is the new guy who doesn't have the "clutch gene." Let's PILE ON HIM NOW!!! RE: Listen to my Pick for game 4 NBA Finals - mount187 - 06-20-2012 09:50 AM Curious what everyone else thinks about this: Are referees swallowing their whistles on OKC, because they're tired of getting burned by the flopping/exaggeration? In essence, have the Thunder "cried wolf" too many times? I would argue yes, but I can also see the argument that MIA is notorious for doing the same thing. I wonder if we might start to see Wade get less calls for "going to the well" too often also. This bitter Pistons fan says, 'Wade get less calls? Not.' RE: Listen to my Pick for game 4 NBA Finals - mount187 - 06-20-2012 10:15 AM Here's another question to ponder: Assuming the Heat hang on to win the title, that gives LeBron three trips to the Finals, along with a Championship, in his first nine years. Durant is in year five, and will have had one Finals appearance. If Durant doesn't make two more Finals appearances (and win a title) in the next four years, will we be talking about Durant as a bigger "bust" than we've talked about LeBron all this time? You can't really argue that LeBron has been playing with more talent; his teams in Cleveland were atrocious. You could also argue that OKC is just as talented (if not more talented) than the Heat are this year. For the record, I don't think Durant will be, or should be, considered a "bust" either way. I don't think LeBron should have taken all the flack he has for not winning either (I do think the criticism for the way he handled his exit from Cleveland was well deserved). I think we lose site of the fact that it's REALLY difficult to win championships; this is LeBron's third trip to the Finals, and everyone just looks at that accomplishment with a collective, "Meh." I certainly don't feel bad for James, I'm just confused by how un-willing everyone has been (myself included) to give him any credit for what he's accomplished so far. RE: Listen to my Pick for game 4 NBA Finals - JetsMetsRangers - 06-20-2012 10:19 AM Well said mount. I can't stand the Heat, think Lebron is a bit of a jerk, but the criticism he gets is ridiculous. He hasn't won a title yet, so what? Like you said, it's very hard to do so. You need a surrounding cast. PER and other stats show he's one of the best players ever. PERIOD! RE: Listen to my Pick for game 4 NBA Finals - ChiefZilla - 06-20-2012 12:13 PM There are 30 teams and hundreds of players gunning a championship every year, and only one team (and 13 players) get it. I got so sick of the Lebron hate that I just want him to win this year so we can give up the stupid "Lebron isn't clutch" storyline. For every winner, there's a loser. Now it's shifting to Harden. "He's not clutch." "He's shrinking in the moment." OR..... MAYBE it's just that the Heat are providing "clutch" defense and game-planning against him? It goes both ways. RE: Listen to my Pick for game 4 NBA Finals - RickRude - 06-20-2012 12:16 PM I'm not a huge basketball guy, but it was funny in the 2nd quarter last night watching LeBron get double teamed and throw it out to guys like Norris Cole, Shane Battier, James Jones, and passing to Haslem only for him to give it right back. Just reminded me of the the poo poo platter he was working with in Cleveland. I chuckled. Especially when Mike Miller's corpse was bricking a 28 foot 3 while LeBron was tripled teamed. |
