Earning the NFC’s No. 1 seed didn’t win the Atlanta Falcons much public support.
First, they were listed as 2.5-point favorites against the Seahawks in the Divisional Round, only the fifth time since 1990 that a top-seeded team was favored by less than a field goal.
This week, the Falcons opened as 3-point home underdogs against the 49ers (and the line is currently 3.5 at most books).
If the Falcons advance to the Super Bowl, they’d likely play the Patriots.
And once again, they’d be big underdogs.
In early Super Bowl lines released on Monday, New England opened as a 6-point favorite against the Falcons. It would be the largest Super Bowl spread since 2009, when the Steelers toppled the Cardinals as 7-point favorites.
The Falcons would, however, be small favorites against the Ravens.
Below are the early lines for all possible Super Bowl matchups (courtesy of 5Dimes):
49ers -3½
Ravens
49ers
Patriots -2
Falcons -1½
Ravens
Falcons
Patriots -6
