We’ve been talking for weeks now about how Notre Dame—despite a perfect record against a more-than-challenging schedule—still doesn’t have the respect of voters or oddsmakers.
Now, we have the first tangible proof.
From @DavidPurdum:
Alabama, which would probably be favored by 3 to 5 points over Oregon, would be a 9-point favorite in a potential BCS Championship Game against the top-ranked Fighting Irish.
Doing the simple math in the tweet above, it looks like the Crimson Tide will be favored by about 8 points in the SEC Championship Game.
Of course, there’s still so much football left to be played that this could end up being a pointless discussion. After all, it was only last week that we were analyzing an Oregon -7 vs. Kansas State spread in the BCS title game.
