College basketball’s favorite Cinderella, led by head coach Brad Stevens, has become a fixture in the NCAA Tournament and made back-to-back national championship game appearances in 2010 and 2011.
But that was always after being largely ignored during the regular season, when the Bulldogs played in the little-known Horizon League and were mixed alongside teams like Cleveland State and Valparaiso. Now, Butler will compete in the recently expanded Atlantic 10, which is quickly becoming one of the better conferences in the country.
In odds released by The Greek on Tuesday, Butler is listed as co-favorites to win the A-10 crown in its first year. The Bulldogs are priced at +250 along with St. Louis, followed by Temple (+350), VCU (+500) and St. Joseph’s (+650).
Elsewhere, Akron (East) and Eastern Michigan (West) opened as the favorites in the MAC, while UNLV (+125) appears to be the team to beat in the Mountain West.
The Greek previously released conference odds for the ACC, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and SEC.
