College football Week 9 lines: Notre Dame- Oklahoma spread moves to double digits

October 22, 2012

Week 9 point spreads for college football were released over the weekend, and we’ve provided all the updated lines (along with openers in parentheses) below.

A few notable point spreads and line movements:

  • Of the 56 games on the board, 42 lines have already seen movement, including 25 by a full point or more.
  • The biggest line move (by far) came with No. 20 Texas A&M, which opened as a 9-point road favorite at 1-6 Auburn but is now -14.
  • The only favorites to flip came in the Ohio State-Penn State matchup (the Nittany Lions moved from 1.5-point home underdogs to 2.5-point favorites) and the Southern Miss-Rice game (the Owls went from +2 to -2 at home).
  • Three games remain off the board: Purdue-Minnesota, UTEP-Houston and UNLV-San Diego State.
  • Utah State, the leaders in the WAC and the nation’s only remaining unbeaten ATS team at 7-0-1, is a 21-point favorite on the road at Texas-San Antonio.
  • In a Battle of the Unbeatens in the SEC, top-ranked Alabama is a whopping 23.5-point home favorite over No. 11 Mississippi State.
  • Other spreads among the Top 5 BCS teams: Florida -6 vs. Georgia, Kansas State -7.5 vs. Texas Tech, Oregon -45.5 (!) vs. Colorado and Notre Dame +10 at Oklahoma.
