College football Week 7 lines: South Carolina- LSU point spread now less than a field goal

October 8, 2012

Week 7 point spreads for college football were released over the weekend, and we’ve provided all the updated lines (along with openers in parentheses) below.

A few notable point spreads and line movements:

  • Third-ranked South Carolina, suddenly looking like a contender for both the SEC and national titles, opened as a 4-point underdog at No. 9 LSU and has been bet down to +2.5. (Just one week ago, this spread was LSU -11.5.)
  • There were two cases where the favorite flipped: Kent State opened as a 1.5-point underdog at Army but is now favored by the same amount, and Central Michigan went from +2.5 to -2.5 at home against Navy on Friday night.
  • Fresno State, the nation’s only 6-0 ATS team, went from a 9-point underdog to +6.5 at No. 24 Boise State.
  • In the Red River Rivalry, 13th-ranked Oklahoma opened as a 3.5-point favorite over No. 15 Texas and has stayed there.
  • One of the biggest line moves came with top-ranked Alabama, which opened as a 17.5-point road favorite at Missouri but is now -21.5.
