Charles Barkley told a Philadelphia radio station that he was one of the bad beat victims in the controversial Packers/Seahawks game, and as you might expect, he isn’t very happy about it.
Barkley, the former NBA superstar, is a well-known gambler who frequently places big bets on sporting events. Earlier this year, he lost $100,000 on the New England Patriots when they failed to defeat the New York Giants in the Super Bowl.
But Monday’s bet, despite being only “five figures,” was far more difficult for him to stomach.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been this mad in my entire life. I got robbed [Monday] night,” Barkley told 97.5 The Fanatic. “I’m just angry. I love to gamble, I can live with winning and losing, but I don’t ever want to get jobbed like I did [Monday] night.
“I’m going to give you a quick synopsis. Everybody is going crazy over the catch, but I got screwed on the roughing the passer, I got screwed on the pass interference, I got screwed on the interception and I found out today that they actually have a real official in the replay booth who could’ve overruled that? I got screwed four times and that makes it even worse.”
Too bad Barkley didn’t place his bet at The D in downtown Las Vegas. The casino is believed to be the only one in town that’s refunding losing wagers.
