UPDATED: Caesars releases 2013 college football BCS national championship odds

January 10, 2012

LSU may have been humiliated in a 21-0 loss to Alabama in Monday night’s BCS national championship game, but there is one small consolation prize for the Tigers.

The Bayou Bengals are favored to win in it all in 2013.

Last week, Caesars Palace released futures odds for next year’s BCS title, and LSU was the favorite at 3-to-1 odds. In updated odds, released Tuesday, the Tigers are now 3.5-to-1 favorites.

Alabama is listed at 6-1 alongside USC, which will be eligible for the postseason for the first time in two years. Oregon (8-to-1) and Arkansas (12-to-1) round out the top 5.

Kansas State took the biggest fall out of the “contenders” following its disappointing loss in the Cotton Bowl. The Wildcats, who were listed at 25-to-1 in the openers, fell to 40-to-1.
