The Los Angeles Dodgers got the best pitcher on the free-agent market, the Los Angeles Angels nabbed the best hitter, and now both teams are your new top two favorites to win the 2013 World Series.
In the latest odds released by Bovada, the Angels—who just signed slugger Josh Hamilton to a 5-year, $125 million contract—are listed at +750, slightly ahead of the cross-town Dodgers (8-to-1).
Hamilton’s addition to a lineup that already included Albert Pujols and Mike Trout will form perhaps the best trio of hitters we’ve seen in years. Meanwhile, the Dodgers’ additions of Zack Greinke and Ryu Hyun-jin will team with Clayton Kershaw, Chad Billingsley, Josh Beckett and others to create arguably the top starting rotation in baseball.
Exactly one week ago, both teams were listed at 12-to-1, behind teams like the Nationals, Tigers, Blue Jays and Yankees.
