Once listed as a pick ‘em, Alabama now an 8.5 point road favorite at LSU in Nov. 3 showdown

October 15, 2012

This much we can say for sure: Top-ranked Alabama, which is 6-0 and has beaten each opponent by at least 19 points, will be favored by a touchdown or more in every game it plays from now until quite possibly the BCS national title game.

The LVH SuperBook released its updated college football Games of the Year lines today, and the Crimson Tide—once a pick ‘em in their Nov. 3 showdown at LSU—are now listed as 8.5-point favorites.

It’s a number that says more about Alabama than LSU, which is ranked 6th in the latest AP poll and is coming off a thrilling 23-21 victory over South Carolina on Saturday. The Tide have exceeded expectations and the Tigers aren’t as good as we thought, but still, doesn’t an 8.5-point adjustment from the opener seem unwarranted?

We wouldn’t lay the points here, and based on early feedback, neither would you.
