Using futures odds available at 5Dimes for the national championship, BCS bowl games and conference championships, we’ve come up with an early list of 2012 college football bowl projections for all 35 bowls.
It was a tedious process, but this should be a fairly accurate assessment of where oddsmakers expect most college football teams to be traveling in a few months.
A couple notes:
- Alabama would be back in the national championship. The Crimson Tide are not among the top two in national championship futures, but they are the new favorites over LSU in the SEC.
- Two teams each from the SEC, Big 12, Big Ten and Pac-12 would make BCS bowls.
- Because Ohio State and Penn State are both bowl-ineligible, that left Indiana in the Big Ten’s No. 9 slot to go to the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl. Projecting the Hoosiers to qualifty for their second bowl since 1993 would be a not-so-funny joke at best, so we had to do some reshuffling.
